The State Grain Bureau issued this year’s first grain shipment plan on March 6, planning to ship 3 million MT procured grains from production regions to consumption regions. The plan includes shipment of 1.63 million MT corn from the Northeast to North China and southern provinces.

Grain sales in production regions have been curbed by the bottleneck of grain outshipment. The government’s arranged grain shipment is conducive to grain sales and a stable market. But the concentrated shipment of reserved grains by railway may squeeze the shipment of commodity grains.
