Heilongjiang’s annual hog production (delivery to the market) was 12 ~ 13 million heads in the last few years. The province has recently worked an ambitious hog production plan.

The province plans to set up more than 7,000 scale hog farms in 39 cities and counties in the next five years. By 2012, Heilongjiang’s hog production is planned to reach 50 million heads a year. To achieve this objective, the government will provide interest-free loans to scale hog farms.
