>>BOABC Insights

According to the Chinese Grain Web, 325,934 MT corn was put to auction at Anhui Grain Wholesale Market (online trading available in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangdong and Sichuan) on April 8, but no deals were concluded. BOABC considers it a result of soft demand from livestock industry.

Slaughterhouses have difficulty procuring hogs presently due to low hog inventory. Egg layer inventory is shrinking rapidly due to low egg price. About 30% of layers have been eliminated.

Piglet price lingers high, reflecting a slim supply and this trend is presumed to sustain in the next few months.
