2. According to Feshan Quality Supervision Authority, prepackaged herbal tea will be formally subject to food production licensing management. Products without the ?QS? logo are not allowed in the market.

3. In 2007, Shanxi Houma examination and quarantine authority altogether examined and quarantined 1543 batches of fruit juice, totaling 196,300 tons, worth 255 million dollars. Yuncheng under the jurisdiction of Houma authority has become one of the major fruit juice exporting bases in China.

4. Filling plants of Pepsi China in Guangdong and Hunan voluntarily make donations for disaster-stricken people.

The Department for Commercial Reform of the Ministry of Commerce mobilized the China Business Confederation to draft the Food Packaging Standard, which provides principles for the designs and production of food packaging including beverages and wines, labeling, packaging layers, recovery management of packaging wastes, etc.

7. In the first quarter of 2008, Shanghai municipal quality supervision bureau organized relevant quality inspection bodies for a special supervisory sampling survey of baked coffee products in the local market. The qualification rate of products in the survey is 92.0%.

8. At the seminar hosted by the China Food Association for the draft text of the Food Hygiene Law, over 30 food enterprises, including Coca Cola, Pepsi, Nestle, Wuliangyie, Yili, Bright and Yanjing Beer, made an appeal to standardize the criteria for food safety.
