Coldiretti, an Italian Farmers Organization, announced that all the tomatoes sauce sold in Italian supermarket have to mark the place of origin. So far, the products only marked the place of packaging. Coldiretti has been against importing Chinese tomatoes. It is calling for the initiative to be applied to canned tomato sauce and canned skinless tomato sauce. It claims that the move will help to clear the unsafe product from the market.
