There are contradictions: farmers cannot sell their oranges and have to dispose at low price, whereas juice processing plants neighboring the orchards are short of raw material. According to BOABC, the maturing period of oranges is short, whereas the quantity of oranges which are up to the low-price procurement standard of processing plants is limited. Many plants have been suffering from hunger, and some see 90% of the capacity not in operation.
