otal sales revenue in the first 8 months in the trade reached 60.6 billion Yuan, increasing by 27.1%, net profit hit 3.85 billion Yuan, increasing by 45.0%. Trade profit margin was 6.36%, 0.79% higher than 5.57% of last year but still lower than 6.62%of late May. There are 94 unprofitable enterprises, 21 down over same time lest year, also 7 lower than the level of late May. But the amount of loss reached 0.24 billion Yuan, increasing by 34.4% than that of last year.
It is busy season for pesticide sales from June to August, pesticide demand increased dramatically over last year due to serious pests, diseases, and weed. As a result of this, both sales volume and price went up. On top of that, pesticide export keeps on increasing rapidly despite negative factors like continuous RMB appreciation and overseas tightened regulation against dangerous chemical import. This partly eased domestic supply pressure. So rate of profit in the pesticide trade keeps going upwards. On the other side, yellow phosphorus price rebounded due to insufficient supply, and price of methanol and benzene like products?benzene, toluene and dimethylbenzene?was also in a increasing trend pushed by up-going oil price, production cost for pesticide increased fast, which makes the profit rate in August lower than that of May.
