In November, sugar plants in the south begin their campaign. New sugar is brought in the market. White granulated sugar has seen a rapid return of its spot price. Meanwhile, as affected from the crude oil and index funds, NY raw sugar future price shot up early this month, to cross 10 cents before retreating to below 10 cents.

On 1st November, the spot price of white granulated sugar in Nanning was 3700 yuan/ton. The spot price slipped to 3525 yuan/ton on 19th November before a rally. The price on 23rd November was 3555 yuan/ton. Meanwhile, the international sugar price lacked obvious direction and ranged between 9.75 and 10.159, mainly affected by the price of crude oil and index funds.
