As introduced by principal of Guangzhou Yi Xiang Trading Co., Ltd., the demand of red sandal wood exceeded supply this week; especially, the consumption of flooring made from South American wood was prosperous, but the raw materials fell in short, which caused the quoted price of such flooring to increase 10% in Shanghai and Hangzhou. Many dealers went to Yu Zhu Wood Market to place orders for red sandal wood, so now the red sandal wood has been sold out and vendors are seeking to bring in more red sandal wood which sees a deal price of RMB5500 per cubic meter. It was also introduced that because of the coming of rain season in South America, less supply made the market price raise to RMB5800 per cubic meter which up RMB300 from last week.
