As influenced by increase of log export duty in Russia since July 1, the average price of logs imported from Russia via Heilongjiang port kept growing, from US$104 per cubic meter to US%106.9 per cubic meter. It?s worth paying attention that the average price reached US$116.4/cubic meter which hit the top for monthly record. In January-August, Heilongjiang port imported 5.721 million cubic meters from Russia, up 16.6% from same period last year and amounting to 31.9% of total volume imported from Russia and amounting to 22.1% of national total import volume; the total import value was US$610 million, up 33.6% and amounting to 33.2% of total volume imported from Russia and amounting to 16.7% of national total import volume. In August, Heilongjiang port imported 712,000 cubic meters of logs from Russia, up 34.4% from same period last year; the total import value was US$81.759 million, up 64.3%. Heilongjiang port ranked the second position in the aspect of import volume and value.
