Wood from northeast region: All species of wood from northeast region were different from each other, which was almost the same to the first ten-day of June. Ash, basswood and Chinese catalpa were still in a low season after selling well for a period and showed no sign of recovery; while, oak and birch kept selling well. Some tenants in Xing Ye Wood Market said that oak and birch had entered into busy season, but the supply of goods had not arrived safely which might affect the sale. From the last ten-day of June, new arrival of oak and birch would come to market continually, so the tight supply would ease in the coming period. The prices in Xing Ye Wood Market were still steady without changes recently.
Wood from Burma: The status of wood from Burma was steady, with sales volume and price almost the same to the first ten-day of June. Now, the supply of all kinds of wood from Burma was sufficient, but the furniture industry didnˇt purchase much. July and August are low season of wood industry when enterprises started less work which made the deal volume of wood decreased.
Wood from Europe: The low status of wood from Europe almost the same to the first ten-day of June. Although some tenants started to make promotions from the end of May, they saw little effect because furniture industry didnˇt purchase that much.
Wood from North America: The general status was low and prices were steady. Many tenants said that sale of wood from North America started to drop slowly since May. The sales volume was relatively small in June and was expected of no improvement in the next two or three months.
Wood from Africa: The deal volume was the same to the first ten-day of June and the market was steady. Wood from Africa maintained the sales volume based on its recognition by people in spite of stock market slump and real estate depression. The sales volume of wood from Africa was steady compared with slide of other species. In terms of price, prices of most wood from Africa became steady, and the pressure of false high price of certain species eased and there would be no poignant change in short-term.
