According to statistics of the customs, in the first quarter, the import of logs fundamentally reversed from the past situation, i.e. import volume decreased and unit price increased.

In the first quarter, total import volume of logs reached 8.5147 million cubic meters, down 11.53%; unit price of logs was US$164.42/cubic meter, up 22.25% from same period last year. Industry players said the growth of unit import price of logs was one fifth higher than that of same period last year. The unit price of coniferous logs and broad-leaved logs was US$120.18 and US$253.7, up 26% and 15.81% respectively.
