According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the national production of soft drinks stood at 4.83million tons in Nov., lower by 1.00% from Oct. 2008, or up 26.80% from same period 2007. Of which, the production of carbonated drinks was 0.70 million tons, 6.91% lower from Oct., or up 26.00% from same period 2007, drinking water in bottles and barrels was 2.12 million tons, higher by 2.61% from Oct., or up 46.50% from same period last year; fruit juices and drinks 0.94 million tons, lower by 7.58% from Oct., or up 16.90% from same period last year.

From Jan. to Nov. 2008, China produced 59.45 million tons of soft drinks, up 19.90% from same period last year. Of which, the growth of carbonated drinks, drinking water in bottle and barrels, and fruit juices and drinks were up 8.30%, 26.70% and 11.90% from same period last year respectively.
