According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the national production of soft drinks stood at 6.03 million tons in Jul., lower 0.64% from Jun. 2008, or up 16.40% from same period 2007. Of which, the production of carbonated drinks was 1.00 million tons, 2.15% lower from Jun., or up 8.80% from same period 2007, drinking water in bottles and barrels was 2.26 million tons, down 1.74% from Jun., or up 8.20% from same period last year; fruit juices and drinks 1.18 million tons, higher by 10.93% from Jun., or up 24.50% from same period last year.

From Jan. to Jul. 2008, China produced 36.28 million tons of soft drinks, up 19.70% from same period last year. Of which, the growth of carbonated drinks, drinking water in bottle and barrels, and fruit juices and drinks were up 6.60%, 19.30% and 14.50% from same period last year respectively.
