The State Council has recently issued a document on promoting agricultural development in 2009.

According to the document, the government plans to increase all kinds of agricultural subsidy in 2009, including rapeseed and soybean fine seed subsidy and farm machine purchase subsidy.

To prevent crop price decline and ensure the growth of farmers’ income, the government plans to expand farm product reserve and encourage commercial reserve.

The government will support the construction of high-quality soybean production bases in the Northeast and Inner Mongolia and low erucic acid and low glucosinolate rapeseed production bases in the Yangtse River reaches. Plans are to be made to develop woody oilseed plants.
