New Hope Group is working towards an integrative hog business. The group plans to invest RMB250 million to set up five piglet breeding farms in Santai County, Sichuan, in three years. Through cooperation with 300 ~ 600 farming households, the group plans to develop a hog productive capacity of 300,000 heads a year in the county.
Taking into account of piglet breeding farms in other provinces, the group has a brood sow inventory of over 10,000 heads presently, capable of producing 3 million piglets a year. The group is striving for a hog productive capacity of more than 3 million heads a year. Besides, the group has a hog slaughter capacity of 7.5 million heads/year.
