According to the State Statistics Bureau, China’s compound feed production by scale producers registered 10.98 million MT in Sept. and 81.92 million MT in Jan. ~ Sept., exceeding the same period of last year by 19.3% and 23.1% respectively.
Poultry feed production increased in Sept. because poultry farms enjoyed good returns. In view of the current upturn of hog price and decline of feed ingredient price, hog feed demand is anticipated to pick up in Oct., providing a spur to hog feed production.
China’s meat production by scale producers registered 1.284 million MT in Sept. and 9.892 million MT in Jan. ~ Sept., 16.6% and 10.5% more than the same period of last year respectively. With the crackdown on illegal slaughter, large slaughterhouses are expected to gain a larger market share.
