| >>BOABC Insights | China’s wheat production is 109.994 million MT in 2008, an increase of 1.474 million MT over the previous year.
Winter wheat planting has been wrapped up. Owing to the government’s raise of protective procurement price, wheat acreage is estimated to be larger than last winter. Spring wheat acreage is predicted to be stable.
BOABC predicts that total wheat acreage may be 23.54 million ha. in 2009/2010, a growth of 0.13% over the previous year. Wheat yield and production are predicted to be 4,772 kg/ha. and 112.34 million MT in 2009/2010. Domestic wheat safety index is predicted to pick up to 43.01% in 2009/2010.
