BOABC anticipates a shrinking demand for corn from the livestock and feed industry in July for the following reasons:
First, after concentrated hog slaughter in April ~ June, the proportion of big hogs is estimated to drop 10% in July.
Second, egg production generates losses, forcing egg farms to cut layer inventory to avoid losses.
Third, broiler price has dropped below the break-even line because of market surplus, likely to lead to a reduction of broiler inventory in July.
