Recently, Hainan Ledong County Municipality has signed banana procurement contract of 500 million yuan at Hainan Ledong Banana Introduction Meeting held at Beijing People’s Hall. According to the person in charge from Ledong County, the cultivation area was about 8000 hectare with annual output of 300,000 tons. The volume that would be sold according to the contracts reached 200,000 tons, which was two third of the total annual output.

Ledong banana enjoyed the reputation of good flavor and high quality. From May, Ledong banana will have its “own identity”. Everyone consumer will learn about the procedure of farming, transportation and sales by the tag on the banana.

Currently, Ledong has built two bases which are over 333 hectare, 4 bases with area between 200 to 300 hectare and 25 bases with area of 33 hectare. Its brand name including Jianfeng, Yaozheng and Dafengyu has sold to large and medium cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Harbin as well foreign countries including Japan, the U.S.A and Russia.
