China’s MOP imports registered 743,000 MT in Jan., 1.3 times more than the month before, the
monthly top since Jan. of 2008, but 2.2% less than the same period of last year. MOP import price
averaged $602/MT (CIF), down $55/MT from the month before but up $290/MT on the
year-on-year basis. 45.7% of the imports arrived in Qingdao, 25.3% in Zhanjiang and 11.1% in
Lianyungang.
SOP imports were 4,000 MT in Jan. and NPK 3,100 MT, down 38.9% and 97.9% respectively from
the month before, down 71.8% and 82.3% respectively on the year-on-year basis. There were no
DAP imports in the month.
